The versatile Anfernee Dijksteel has gone from strength to strength for Charlton since making his breakthrough in 2017/18. After making a number of appearances in the previous season, 2018/19 saw Dijksteel rise up to the challenge of first team football.
Impressive turns in the Carabao Cup against both Exeter City and Norwich City in August did not go unnoticed before he made his league debut as a 52nd-minute substitute in the 2-2 draw against Peterborough United at The Valley in November 2017.
Since joining from the Nike Academy in 2016, the Dutchman plied his trade in the centre of midfield for the club’s U23 side, but it is at right-back where he excelled in the 17/18 season, stepping in for Chris Solly seamlessly on the occasions the Club Captain was injured.
In total Diksteel has turned out for the Addicks just under 60 times, netting his first senior goal in the 4-0 victory over Scunthorpe United in April 2019.
