On the eve of the 2018/19 season, the versatile defender suffered heartbreak when an ACL injury ruled him out of the entire campaign.
The midfielder joined in January 2017 and has gone on to become an integral part of the Addicks’ engine room, playing 60 times across all competitions, scoring seven goals.
He finished as the club’s top assist-maker in 2017/18 with eight, while all five of his goals proved vital – a brace in the 4-1 home win over Northampton Town, the winner in the 1-0 success at Bradford City and both goals in the 2-1 victory over Rochdale in SE7.
The midfielder has a deep link with Charlton as his stepfather, Nicky Forster, played 10 games for Charlton in the 2009/10 season.
Forster-Caskey faced a long road to recovery and was determined to come back stronger. His recovery efforts were rewarded with a contract extension at the end of the season and he will no doubt be looking to repay his faith in the Championship.
