The Longest serving player at the club, Chris Solly takes on the role of cub captain for a second campaign.
Enjoying his testimonial season last year, the right-back has spent a decade at first-team level having come through the youth ranks, making well over 250 appearances in the process. Solly has been a firm fans’ favourite over the years and blossomed early on in his career, winning both the club’s Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year award in the 2011/2012 season, the first defender to achieve the feat since 1995.
Solly carried on impressing and promotion to the Championship didn’t faze him. For the second year running, he was the Player of the Year as the Addicks finished 9th in their first season back.
He has also been a captain and a leader of the side, taking the mantle from Johnnie Jackson on the occasions he was sidelined and officially takes the Club Captain role as of this term.
The 27-year-old has his sights for the 300-match mark for the Addicks well tuned in 2019/20.
