The longest serving player at the club has now the role of Club Captain for the forthcoming season in what is his testimonial year.
The right-back has spent a decade at first-team level having come through the youth ranks, making well over 250 appearances in the process. Solly has been a firm fans’ favourite over the years and blossomed early on in his career, winning both the club’s Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year award in the 2011/2012 season, the first defender to achieve the feat since 1995.
Solly carried on impressing and promotion to the Championship didn’t faze him. For the second year running, he was the Player of the Year as the Addicks finished 9th in their first season back.
He has also been a captain and a leader of the side, taking the mantle from Johnnie Jackson on the occasions he was sidelined and officially takes the Club Captain role as of this term.
The 27-year-old is well on course to hit the 300-match mark for the Addicks in 2018/19.
