Formerly of the esteemed Charlton Athletic youth academy, Erhun Oztumer returned to the Addicks in August, 2019. Despite having a successful career in the football league Oztumer endured something of an odyssey at the beginning of his playing days…
having been released by the Charlton Academy, Oztumer Journeyed to Turkey, plying his trade at Manisaspor, Sivasspor and Anadolu Uskudar. In 2012 he travelled back to England where he impressed at Dulwich Hamlet, helping them to promotion in 2013. Oztumer returned to professional football in 2014, signing for Peterborough United where he made 57 appearances, scoring 7 times.
Oztumer then moved to Walsall where he continued to impress, winning spots in the 2017 and 2018 PFA League One Player of The Year teams.
after leaving Walsall he joined Bolton Wanderers but struggled to find game time, making only 10 starts in all competitions during his time at the University Of Bolton Stadium.
A clever midfielder who possesses flair and the footwork to frustrate defences, Oztumer will likely provide an alternative attacking option from Midfield for the Addicks.
