Schools Partnership

Charlton Athletic Schools Partnership Scheme was set up at the start of 2016/17 season and now includes 47 schools from across the Borough of Greenwich giving the club the opportunity to reach and engage with 19,000 primary school children.

The Scheme is part of the club’s long term strategy to be at the heart of the local community and grow the club’s fanbase with the Borough of Greenwich a key focus.

As part of the scheme schools receive exclusive benefits from having children’s favourite players visit their schools to reduced match tickets to children contributing to the club’s website.

Become part of the Schools Partnership Scheme and unlock benefits for your school

As part of the scheme, schools receive exclusive benefits, including player visits, discounted match tickets, a Schools Partnership Scheme noticeboard and the opportunity to take part in this annual competition.

Schools in the scheme are also invited to take place in the annual Charlton Athletic Schools Partnership football tournament, which takes place every year at The Valley in May. In the inaugural edition of the competition this summer more than 200 children played at The Valley with Cardwell Primary School and Horn Park Primary School winning the morning and the afternoon tournaments respectively.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of joining the scheme are plentiful. Schools who are on board can expect to receive:

  • Having your favourite player come to your school
  • A school appearance from our official club mascots Sir Valiant and Robyn
  • Reduced priced matchday tickets with cashback offered for tickets sold
  • Signed memorabilia for schools raffles/fetes etc.
  • Chance to be in a guard of honour at a first-team fixture at The Valley welcoming the teams onto the pitch
  • Participation in the annual Schools Partnership Scheme football tournament where teams get to play on The Valley pitch

Who is involved?

We currently have 48 primary schools from the Royal Borough of Greenwich signed up to the scheme. This means that we are reaching and engaging with 19,000 children on a regular basis. That does not include the work that the Charlton Athletic Community Trust are doing to cement relationships even further.
