| Message | It's only a matter of time until we get out of League 1 back to the back to the Championship whether it's this season, next season or the season after. We have seen a number of massive ex premiership teams coming down to this level...
* Man City went back up after just a year (albeit a poor ref in their play-off final). * QPR went up after 3 years down. * Sheffield Wednesday were promoted back after 2 years. * Nottingham Forest went back up within 3 years. * Leicester were promoted after just the one season. * Leeds would have been comfortably promoted had it not been for a heavy points deduction and they have been looking like promotion certainties in their 3rd season. * Norwich are leading the way in their 1st season down and that after losing 1-7 at home on the first day. * Southampton would have been just behind the play-off if they had started the season on 0 points and maybe a bit more as their players had not had the psychological disadvantage of knowing they were 10 points behind at the start. So I feel it's only a t matter of time for ourselves before our turn comes to go back up and the same can be said for Leeds, Norwich and Southampton. We are in a good position in the play-offs and if we miss out on automatic promotion I just can't see us missing out on the play-offs. Whether we are then the 1 lucky in 4 to win the play-offs obviously remains to be seen. Obviously I would prefer automatic promotion though. COME ON YOU ADDICKS! |

| Reply | The law of averages says that Charlton must go up sometime although, I doubt if it will be this season. It will probably be Swindon or Colchester who will then last one season in the Championship and then come back down again! Anyway, who's to say that Leeds will go up? If they keep playing the way they have for the last month they will only make the play-offs especially after the trounsing they received in the FA Cup. Plus, the mightly Leeds seem to turn in to a very average side when it's play-off time. | |

| Reply | There is just one problem, all the clubs you list, except for Norwich, are in a good or reasonable financial position. I fear it may be a longer wait for us as failiure to go up this year will see the playing squad decimated. We are already a one man team, no prizes for guessing who that man is, and without him we are average. We need to get our younger players up to first team standard to give us a solid base to build on. But you are right, it is a matter of time, but how much time? | |

| Reply | What evidence do you have that our club will even be around next season, should we fail to get promotion. Do you even know we are losing £1m a month. Do you not realise that just to survive we will be forced to firesale every asset we have. Your post is staggering in its arrogance that "its only a matter of time till we get back to the championship"and "obviously I would prefer automatic promotion though"
You should wake up and join the real world. |

| Reply | Personally, I'd rather read Alex's Realism.....Administration is coming, we all know that deep down and, on current form we will be lucky to make the play offs. As well as the clubs listed by Seb who have returned up the leagues I have a couple for you Seb, Oxford United and Luton Town. Remind me where they are now???

| Reply | Classic Seb Lewis!
The fact that Norwich, Leeds and Southampton are all doing well, Seb, is BAD news for us, not good surely! Also, the play-offs are not about luck at all. The matches in the playoffs are intense, real football matches that usually produce as the winner the team that deserve to win IMO. |

| Reply | Alexander's pessimism for me. And I wouldn't even call it 'pessimism', I would call it more, speaking the truth. | |

| Reply | Optimism for me! How can we expect anyone to buy the club with such negative talk - we need to talk the club up not down. | |
