The centre-back began last season at Cambridge United, but found game time difficult and was restricted to just one start and two substitute appearances during his three-month spell at the club.
After being recalled by the Addicks, Gillingham snapped up the defender and Lennon made two appearances on loan for the Gills in League One.
Lennon, who can also play left-back, returned to Priestfield when Charlton’s U21 side played Justin Edinburgh’s side in the Kent Senior Cup final. The 20-year-old played an important role in the match at the back as the visitors kept a clean-sheet and won 1-0.
The match was Lennon’s 21st for Jason Euell’s development squad and during their campaign, he also helped himself to two goals.
The left-footed defender was on the bench on 10 occasions for the senior side and despite not making a single appearance for Guy Luzon’s side during the 2014/15 season, Lennon is more than likely to get more opportunities this campaign.
