Midfielder El-Hadji Ba became Charlton’s second signing of summer 2015 when he arrived at The Valley from Sunderland in June.
The 22-year-old began his career in France with Le Havre AC, making his professional debut at the age of 19, with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur reportedly linked with the central midfielder.
However, it was the Black Cats who won the race to bring the central midfielder to the Premier League in July 2013.
Ba made three appearances during his first season on Wearside, scoring on his debut in a 3-1 FA Cup victory over Carlisle United, before joining Ligue 1 side Bastia under the management of Claude Makélélé, on loan for the 2014/15 season.
Despite impressing in each of his first seven games in the French top flight last term, a broken leg suffered in a home clash against Lorient kept Ba out for the remainder of the season.
Having returned to full fitness, Ba, who has been capped at U20, U19, and U18 level for France, will be an integral part of Guy Luzon’s plans for the upcoming season.
