Wales international Andrew Crofts joined the Addicks on a one-year deal in July 2016 following a successful trial with the club.

The midfielder had been training with the club since the beginning of pre-season and was a standout performer on our tour of Austria.

An assured presence at the base of midfield, Crofts has 28 caps for Wales, with his most recent appearance for his country coming in a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland in March of this year.

The 32-year-old began his career with Gillingham. After progressing through the ranks at the Kent club, he went on to 191 appearances for the Gills, scoring 19 goals, and also captained them on a number of occasions.

He joined Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2009, where he would also go on to be appointed skipper, and, 12 months later, he signed for Norwich City following their promotion to the Championship.

Scoring on his Canaries debut against Watford, Crofts would play a key role as City gained their second promotion in as many years to reach the Premier League.

In 2012, he rejoined Brighton – helping them to the Championship play-offs in 2012/13 and 2013/14 – and, last season, spent the final two months of the campaign on loan at Gillingham.
