It's four years since Youga arrived in SE7, the left-back having been snapped up by then Addicks boss Alan Curbishley on a free transfer from French Championnat winners Olympique Lyonnais.
The powerful defender went out on loan to Bristol City in his first term with the Addicks and also embarked on temporary spells with Bradford City and Scunthorpe United over the next two seasons.
Following a successful five-month stint with the Iron, Youga was recalled and finally made his Addicks debut in an FA Cup third-round match against West Bromwich Albion at The Valley in January 2008. He then went on to make the left-back berth his own, featuring in a further 12 league and cup games that season.
Youga enjoyed mixed fortunes last term, earning a straight red card in the second league match at Watford but also scoring his first goal for the club, when he gave his side a dramatic late lead in the 2-2 draw at Plymouth Argyle in November.
A cult figure among the Charlton faithful, Youga, who can also play at centre-half, fell out of the first-team picture briefly last season following the arrival of Jay McEveley on loan from Derby County.
However, a shoulder injury curtailed McEveley's time in SE7 and saw Youga - who returned to training in 2009/10 with significantly less hair - battle back to become a first-team regular once more. In total, he played 36 times for the Addicks in 2008/09.
