Weddings

Here at Charlton Athletic, we recognise that your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and we are dedicated to making it perfect for you and your guests.

When you book your wedding at The Valley, you can be sure that no matter how big or small your wedding party is, our experienced team will guarantee that everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Your wedding is unique and we will make certain that everything happens as you have planned, to help create a magical day.

Once your function is booked, we look forward to working with you towards a hugely successful and enjoyable day, one which your guests will talk about for weeks afterwards. We can help organise any of the important additional services that you may require, including entertainment, flowers and photographers.

What's more, the club has a wedding licence, so it's possible to conduct a civil marriage ceremony at The Valley, too.

Suites

Your function can be held in any of our purpose-built suites, with one of our wedding packages able to cater for anywhere from 10 to 1,000 guests.

The north-stand facilities has views over the pitch and can cater for a dinner for up to 450 guests and a party for up to 1,000 guests. This facility is available evenings and weekends for your party and can be partitioned to fit the size of your event.

The Millennium Suite, stretching the length of the west stand, boasts magnificent views of the famous Valley pitch. It is the ideal venue for large banquets, parties and receptions from 80 to 200 guests (minimum number 80).

The boardroom is a private, exclusive suite ideal for smaller intimate dinners and parties.

The Greenwich Suite is perfect for parties and dinners of up to 70 guests and is one of the most popular suites for smaller wedding parties at The Valley.

The Observatory Suite, split on two levels and overlooking the Millennium Dome, Canary Wharf and the Thames Barrier, is a great setting for small parties and cocktail receptions.

All of the suites contain private bar facilities and are booked for your exclusive use. Each suite must be booked with one of our wedding packages and an evening buffet.

Please note that we have our own chefs and we provide the catering.

Ceremony

As soon as provisional arrangements have been made for your marriage at The valley, you should contact:

Without the presence of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar, there can be no marriage. It is therefore essential that you contact the Superintendent Registrar once arrangements have been made. A fee for this attendance to the Superintendent Registrar will be payable before the ceremony.

You will have to give notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the district you live in. The notice must be given in person by at least one of the couple as soon as possible, and is valid for 12 months.

When notice is given in a registration district other than Greenwich, you will have to collect the authority before the ceremony and ensure it is delivered to the registrar.

Only a civil, non-religious ceremony can be permitted by the Superintendent Registrar. Any music, reading, words or performance which form any part of the ceremony must therefore be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who attends the ceremony.

Provisional bookings with the Registrar can be made 12 months in advance. However, they cannot be confirmed until three months prior to the event date.

Any queries relating to any of the above points can be dealt with by the registry office.

We ask that you provide any CDs that you wish to be played before and after the ceremony.

The hire of the room for the civil ceremony at The Valley is £250 (plus VAT).

Packages

Silver:

* Exclusive use of one our suites to suit your requirements, which is set up to your specification. Tables will be set with white linen tablecloths and cutlery

* Your guests will benefit from our secure complementary car parking

* Our dedicated team will greet the bride and groom with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

* Bucks Fizz reception for your guests

* Table menus with your names and the date of your wedding

* Luxury fork buffet accompanied by a glass of wine

* Sparkling wine to toast the bride and groom

* Bar open until midnight

Saturday £50; Friday and Sunday £40 per person inclusive.

Gold:

* Exclusive use of one our suites to suit your requirements and set up to your specification. Tables will be set with white linen tablecloths and cutlery

* Your guests will benefit from our secure complementary car parking

* Our dedicated team will greet the bride and groom with a glass of Champagne on arrival

* Glass of Pimms or Bucks Fizz on arrival for your guests

* Table menus with your names and the date of your wedding

* Silver-served three-course wedding breakfast with freshly brewed coffee and mints

* Half-bottle of wine per person to accompany your meal

* Glass of Champagne to toast the bride and groom

* Opportunity to take your photographer pitchside for photos for up to 10 guests

* Bar open until midnight

Saturday £70; Friday and Sunday £60 per person inclusive.

Platinum:

* Exclusive use of one our suites to suit your requirements and set up to your specification. Tables will be set with white linen tablecloths and cutlery

* Your guests will benefit from our secure complementary car parking

* Our dedicated team will greet the bride and groom with a glass of Champagne on arrival

* Glass of Champagne with raspberries and luxury canapés on arrival for your guests

* Table menus with your name and the date of your wedding

* Silver-served four-course wedding breakfast with English and continental cheeseboard and freshly-brewed coffee and luxury truffles

* Half-bottle of wine per person to accompany your wedding breakfast

* Glass of Champagne to toast the bride and groom

* Opportunity to take your photographer pitchside for photos for up to 10 guests

* Bar open until midnight

Saturday £90; Friday and Sunday £80 per person inclusive.

Evening receptions

If you are looking for a smaller wedding during the day, or are even getting married abroad, Charlton offer the opportunity to have an evening reception with a touch of class.

The evening reception package includes:

* The use of one of our suites to suit your requirements

* Tables to be clothed with white linen

* Bucks Fizz reception for guests

* Luxury finger buffet

* Bar facility until midnight

Children's packages

Charlton can provide a package for children upon request. Please call the conference and banqueting team for more details.

Bespoke packages

If you would like to add that special touch to your wedding, Charlton will ensure that your special day is one to remember.
