2012/13 season tickets

Posted on: Wed 08 Feb 2012

Charlton supporters can buy most 2012/13 season-tickets at previous League One prices until April 5th, the club announced in late January.

But those who delay until the team's status next season is confirmed could face significant increases.

Confirming a price freeze for standard seats throughout the stadium, chairman Michael Slater praised fans for the part they have played in the club's success so far this season.

"We have had some fantastic crowds for League One football, and I know that has helped the team win some important matches," he said. "It was fantastic to see The Valley so full against Sheffield United and that is how we would like it to be every week.

"The board is very grateful for such tremendous support, and given what is going on in the wider economy, we want to make sure people can afford to come back next season.

"However, our current adult prices are £100 below what they were last time the club was in the Championship. If we are promoted - and nobody is taking anything for granted at this stage - we would have to look to increase our ticket revenue over time in order to compete at the higher level."

The price freeze until Easter means that adult fans buying in the initial period will pay just £240 in the north stand and north-west quadrant and £350 in the wings of the east and upper west. Other seats in the east and west stands will be £375, with the family stand at £215 for adults accompanied by an U18.

For the first time, the club will also offer an over 60s and U21s price of £165 in the family stand, as well as in the north upper and north-west quadrant. East and west stand season tickets in this age category will be priced £225 and £250 until the April 5th deadline.

The U18 and U11 prices remain at £75 and £49 respectively, although this year the club is not protecting them from any post-deadline price rise.

The only significant change is that the price for adult and over 60 and U21 wheelchair and ambulant disabled supporters rises by £50 to £215 and £125 respectively throughout the stadium, and fans will have to demonstrate a higher level of disability on an annual basis to qualify. Helpers remain free.

Disabled U18s will pay £75 instead of £49, which remains the rate for disabled U11s.

These changes have been the subject of extensive consultation with CADSA, the supporters' group which represents disabled fans, which has resulted in changes to the original proposals. In fact, the prices are the same as those which applied in 2008/09, when the club was last in the Championship.

Disabled fans who bought five-year VIP season tickets in 2010 will be unaffected. However, Slater acknowledged: "There are about 400 VIPs who will have lost out financially on the current prices. We remain committed to ensuring they get full value for money over the five years of their tickets."

Season tickets are now on sale, including online, with new applicants as well as the club's 9,250 existing holders able to apply. As usual, fans can pay by instalments through Zebra Finance. The Zebra Finance form, which must be completed and returned to the commercial centre, can be downloaded here.

Season tickets are available online, as well as over the phone or by returning the personalised application form being sent out early this month. Existing seats will be reserved until June 30th.

Valley Express will continue to operate in 2012/13, which will be its ninth season. There are no changes to current routes and pick-ups and the fare remains £7, with season passes at £138.
