Charlton set for clotted cream

Mark Ritson reports

Charlton head to Devon to face Exeter City on Saturday (3pm) with the potential to move 10 points clear at the top of League One.

With a load of fantastic offers now available from the Addicks' online betting partner, Coral, there's no better time to put down your stake on over 115 markets ahead of the match.

Johnnie Jackson has proved to be the match-winner for the past couple of games against Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, thanks to two magnificent free-kicks, and the skipper is 8/1 to open the scoring against the Grecians.

Bradley Wright-Phillips continues to be Coral's favourite to draw first blood at 5/1, with the likes of Yann Kermorgant, Danny Haynes, Paul Hayes and Leon Clarke all on offer at 6/1 to score first.

Indeed, it was Wright-Phillips who scored the first goal against Paul Tisdale's side at The Valley in September last year.

Midfielder Dale Stephens scored the second goal that afternoon, and if selected, he could come back into Chris Powell's matchday squad with a 10/1 price hanging over his head to net Saturday's first goal at St James' Park.

Fellow midfielders Danny Hollands and Danny Green are available at 12/1, while the energetic Bradley Pritchard, who has starred in the Addicks' starting XI against the Owls and the Blades, is 14/1 to grab the first strike of the afternoon.

However, if you fancy an outsider, consider vice-captain, and former Exeter City skipper, Matt Taylor, who is priced at 20/1, while Michael Morrison and Rhoys Wiggins are an attractive 25/1.

Grecians striker Daniel Nardiello, who had an effort marginally cleared off the line in the fixture in September, and was subsequently sent off following his strong protests, is valued at 7/1 to score first this time around.

In terms of the correct score, Charlton fans might be tempted at a comfortable 3-0 victory, which is currently set at 18/1, while an extra goal in the Addicks' favour is bumped up to a mouth-watering 40/1.

A narrow 2-1 victory for Powell's men is on at 8/1, while a 2-2 draw is available at 14/1. However, the Reds' last visit to St James' Park ended in a 1-0 defeat in September 2010, and the same scoreline this time around is on offer at 20/1.

If the Addicks find themselves losing at the break, but can come back to win the contest by full-time, you can back a healthy 25/1 price. But if Charlton are leading in the first period and the Grecians can come back to grab a draw, there's a 12/1 price available.
