Charlton confirmed on Tuesday morning that the club is in discussions with Newcastle United regarding the potential transfer of goalkeeper Rob Elliot.

The 25-year-old has travelled to the Premier League club's training ground while negotiations take place.

The Greenwich-born player, who is a product of the Addicks' youth academy, has made 109 appearances for the club since making his Charlton debut in April 2008.
