Pay further tribute to Keith

The Valley observed an impeccable minute's silence for Keith Alexander prior to Saturday's fixture against Stockport County, and fans can further pay tribute to the late Macclesfield Town manager at Lincoln City's match against Hereford United on Friday night.

Addicks and Hatters players both wore black armbands in SE7 in memory of the former Stockport striker, who died the previous Tuesday night.

In his programme column, Charlton boss Phil Parkinson wrote: "On a sad note, I'd like to offer my condolences to Keith Alexander's family on behalf of everyone at Charlton. I was at Notts County's game with Macclesfield Town on Tuesday, the fixture which ultimately proved to be Keith's last.

"We're all passionate about our football and determined to be successful, but hearing the following day that Keith had passed away, aged 53, really put everything into perspective."

Alexander also managed Lincoln, and the Imps are holding a series of special events prior to kick-off against the Bulls (7.45pm).

A giant screen has been installed in the corner of the Stacey West Stand and the Echo Stand, and memorable moments from Alexander's career will be broadcast. A minute's applause will take place prior to the match, while a special neutral zone has been set aside for supporters of other clubs to come and pay their respects.

Fans will also get the opportunity to see the World Cup trophy, which is visiting Sincil Bank as part of a worldwide tour.

England World Cup-winner Martin Peters will parade the trophy around the pitch before kick-off, and fans in the neutral zone will also get a chance to have their photo taken with the cup, thanks to a unique numbered voucher which will be issued at the turnstiles.
