Women's Pompey clash postponed

For the second week in a row, the Charlton women's team saw their weekend washed out as their clash with Portsmouth was postponed due to an unfit pitch at Erith Town FC.

Mary Onianwa was on fire for the reserves

However, the women's reserves were in action and made a superb start to their defence of the Kent Cup with a 10-0 win over White Cliffs at Sparrows Lane.

Katie Hardaker opened the scoring on four minutes, lobbing the goalkeeper from 18 yards.

Shortly afterwards, Charley Clifford added a second with a great strike from 25 yards and with less than a quarter of an hour gone, Hardaker made it 3-0.

For a while the Addicks stopped playing neat football and went too direct, but after 25 minutes, Mary Onianwa opened her account and the remainder of the half became a physical battle as White Cliffs tried to get back into the game.

The second half produced better passing from Charlton and this paid dividends as numerous chances were created and White Cliffs rarely got out of their own half. Onianwa's pace was a constant threat and she bagged four more goals.

Alana Garratt then claimed her first senior goal for the Addicks, before Chloe Pettitt capped off a fine Charlton performance with the 10th.

The Addicks will be at home to either Whitstable Town or Aylesford in the next round on Sunday, January 17th.

Reserves: Parfoot, Goldsmith (Smith 45), Hale (Pettitt 20), Roll, Simmons, Hardaker, Clifford, Patel, Poole, Stillwell (Garratt 45), Onianwa.
