That's handy

Football returns with a bang on Saturday - and so does the 2009/10 annual club handbook, which has again been combined with the first Valley Review of the season for the visit of Wycombe Wanderers.

The 2009/10 annual club handbook has again been combined with the first Valley Review of the season

Supporters who attended the pre-season Valley friendly against Ipswich Town will have seen a hint of what lies in store from the award-winning publication.

But only by purchasing the 116-page issue will fans be fully updated on all the events and statistics of last season, and all the player profiles for the coming campaign.

What's more, for the first time there is a handy three-page travel guide to all of the League One away grounds the Addicks will be visiting.

The annual club handbook, priced £5, is the essential Charlton matchday companion.

Thanks to extensive work by club historian Colin Cameron, the publication contains all the facts and figures fans could ever need, not only from 2008/09, but right the way back to the club's first league season in 1921.

And there are all the usual profiles of the club's players, from the first team right down to the U18s, two of whom have made their first-team debuts in recent seasons, so it pays to know who's who among the younger ranks.

There are details of every international fixture played by a Charlton player, and also included in this issue for the first time are details of the Football League representative matches played by Don Welsh and Gordon Hurst.

Not content with becoming the club's youngest debutant in 2008/09, Jonjo Shelvey broke another two records last term - and the details of those and everything else connected to the Addicks is contained in one comprehensive publication.
