Six changes for cup clash
Two sides with differing Premiership fortunes meet at The Valley this evening and Addicks boss Iain Dowie has made six changes for the Carling Cup third round tie with Bolton.
Thomas Myhre is again preferred to Scott Carson in the League Cup while injury doubts Darren Bent, Souleymane Diawara and Amady Faye are not included in the squad.
Dowie has reverted back to a 4-4-2 with Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and Marcus Bent leading the line, and there are midfield recalls for Radostin Kishishev and Bryan Hughes.
At the back Jonathan Fortune comes back in for Diawara and Dennis Rommedahl is joined on the bench by Stephan Andersen, Darren Ambrose and youngsters Osei Sankofa and Alistair John.

The system puts the onus on Jerome Thomas to stretch his legs out wide as he aims to build on an encouraging display against Watford on Saturday while Hermann Hreidarsson and Kevin Davies both sent off in the Premiership clash earlier this season, start on opposite sides.
The visitors, flying high in the league, have lost just once this season, at The Valley, and they come into the game without skipper Kevin Nolan who is suspended.
There is no Nicolas Anelka either and keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen gets a rest after saving two penalties against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday and top scorer Ivan Campo is on the bench.
