Clark captures pro contract

More of story 1

Young defender Jack Clark has penned a one-year professional contract with Charlton.

Highly-rated full-back Clark was initially told back in February that both he and midfielder Alex Stavrinou would be the only two academy graduates to be offered professional terms with the Addicks.

And, just days after returning to pre-season training, left-sided starlet Clark has now signed on the dotted line to confirm the deal.

Clark follows hot on the heels of 18-year-old Stavrinou, who put pen to paper on a professional contract with the Addicks last Friday. More of story 1

Ambrose heads for Selhurst

Darren Ambrose has joined Crystal Palace on a free transfer after his contract expired at Charlton.

Following Charlton's relegation to League One, Harlow-born Ambrose was told that his current deal with the Addicks would not be renewed when it came to an end and he was therefore free to discuss a move to another club.

And, following talks with Palace, 25-year-old Ambrose, who spent time on loan at first club Ipswich Town last season, has opted to make the short trip from SE7 to SE25 to link up with Neil Warnock's Championship outfit.

A former England U21 international, Ambrose joined Charlton from Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee in July 2005. More of story 2
